Fountain Square on Aug. 28 + Cancer Sucks

P27 Indie SummerWhen you last heard from us, we were planning to go away for the summer to record the follow-up to Calling Out. That was before we received the devastating news that Dave Killen (drummer, multi-instrumentalist, singer of the lovely high harmonies) has a recurrence of lymphoma. He successfully beat it into remission four years ago and was just a few months shy of the five-year “all clear” mark. Dave has undergone two rounds of chemo so far with positive results. Soon, he will go through a final round of chemo and an autologous stem cell transplant.

Dave and his wife Jacqui have taken on this challenge with their usual strength, good cheer, and sense of humor. They are sharing their journey via their blog, Nashville or Bust. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Until Dave is back to full health, our good friend Chris Mueller of Alone At 3AM volunteered to play drums at our Fountain Square and Bend Fest shows. We are deeply grateful to Chris for stepping up, and to Dave, who was insistent that cancer not get in the way of what promise to be three great shows. We are a band of brothers — we will make Dave proud.

Hope to see you at Fountain Square — August 28. The show starts at 7pm with JetLab — we’re on at 9pm, between The Perfect Children and Wussy.
